Time in Killin

Mum & Dad took us away on a trip back to Killin. It's one of their favourite caravan sites, with plenty of walks for us. The falls of Dochart

The weather was very mixed but Sophie and I got outside when it was sunny and Sophie even stalked the ducks! Such a beautiful place and if you venture of the beaten track you find some gorgeous hidden gems to walk in .... vizsla heaven!

I ordered my ladies a new bed. Not cheap but i've been through a few types and a few double quilts then someone recommended the tuffie nest from http://www.tuffies.co.uk/ ( a company in Scotland). I have to say my ladies are in doggy heaven tonight and the quality and quick delivery is outstanding. The quality speaks for itself and i'm confident it will last longer than the previous beds mine have had.

They have some nice stuff - worth a look.

Viz wizz today

Mum and dad took us to meet up with some other 'red dogs' from the VizslaScotland forum. We went to a place near Kinneil Museum in Boness. Fantastic place, Sophie and I were one of 21 doggies that turned up today.
We are the 5th and 6th dogs from the left lol.
We met another viz called 'Ruby' (right), that confused Sophie a little!

It was great to have a good long run about today after our rubbish weather!

I have 2 incredibly happy vizslas today!

They are delighted as it's getting lighter which means longer walks in the evening and it's been 14oC today (tropical for Scotland haha).

Nothing like the sun on your back after the winter we've just had :-) Happy Days!!

It should be illegal to make Vizslas go out in the rain! That will be my manifesto!

Yesterday morning mum got our coats on early about 6:40am and opened the front door to be met with lakes (slight exaggeration) and horizontal rain!! Sophie and me raised our eyes toward mum and inwardly shouted "SERIOUSLY" but we just got pulled out for a walk. Was quite a quick walk mind, as mum got fed up looking behind her constantly for me..... well a viz has to shelter somehow :-)

We've not had much to report lately what with all the snow, gale force winds, rain/sleet/hailstones... (good old "bonny Scotland"). Today the puddles (read lakes haha) had shrunk a bit so we went up to the fields. We had a great run about and Sophie stuck her head down a rabbit hole.
and here she is looking like butter wouldn't melt....
All in all a good walk we were a bit disappointed at having to go back home.

Sophie and I just had a running race over 3 snowy fields after some hares! Couldn't believe it, Sophie is now faster than me, hmm!!!! I couldn't believe it when she overtook me, but we still didn't catch the hares.

It was nice in the fields tonight, very dark but we had our flashy collars on and very quiet, except when dad called us back. We don't have any photos but here's one of our walk this morning, we went along the same path yesterday and it was all GREEN, today it's white (again) unbelievable.

First forest walk of the year

Mum and Dad took us to the forest today for a run, we love it up there. There was still a fair bit of snow.

Sophie & I had our first walk of the new year this morning, still snowy in bits. Hmm we had to wait a bit longer and mum was later getting up this morning.... something to do with being Scottish, Hogmannay and wine!

Someone on the Vizslascotland forum recommended these collars that have 3 light settings. I got them from Pets at Home. I have to say, if you, like me haven't heard of them then they are BRILLIANT!!!!!!

I've tried different variations of these type of colars but I recommend these. Ruby is modelling.

Halloween Vizz Wizz

Today we went to meet up with some of our ginger friends from the Vizslascotland forum. (Mum says if anyone would like to join us on the forum you'd be most welcome. It's not just for Scottish people that's just where this particular group was formed so we could have some local vizz meet-ups. They love to chat about all things Viz. Vizslascotland welcomes members from everywhere).

A halloween wizz at the old Bangour Hospital site in West Lothian was arranged. Here's some snaps and happy halloween everyone.

What a great find this was. We had a great day and are a bit tired now.

Mum & Dad took us for a last weekend in the caravan before winter. It actually snowed very lightly last night but we had our coats (phew!). Glad to get back home today though as it's getting very cold!We stayed in Blair Atholl just outside Pitlochry. The tree colours and leaves were beautiful and we fitted in perfectly. We had some great walks, and there was more than a few rabbits to point at and chase (but we didn't catch them).
This is a truly beautiful part of Scotland. The above image is of the 'Queens View'.

Thought i'd post a pic of Sophie. Mum disappeared this morning after our walk with Sophie and I stayed with dad. When she came back she smelled of other dogs, how dare she! Turns out she'd been to start her 'gold' training.... i'll let her off then. Anyway here's a pic of her after her training, the poor love, what a lightweight eh!
Guess I have to wait until she's recovered till she'll play with me. PS. mum says she did really well.

Bad Mum!

I used to get the vet to clip the dogs nails when they went for worming/weight etc then I thought i'll do it myself. It's been going well although Ruby hates it and squirms, and tries to hop round on one leg (dragging me with her). Sophie on the other hand is an absolute star. She stands like a statue, tries to lick you while you're clipping , doesn't even flinch.

Tonight, I did Sophie - no problem. Got two of Ruby's claws done and after the usual chase round the kitchen etc got another one, was about to clip, she moves, yelps...... OMG blood everywhere!!!!! I applied pressure and it eventually stopped bleeding. I've put a tiny bit of antiseptic cream on and she's now sporting a natty spongebob sock and wearing a scowl (directed at me ). I doubt she'll let me do it again, so it'll be back to the vets doing it from now on. Here's my poor doggie, feeling very sorry for herself, she wouldn't even look at me.

Wow it's been ages since we blogged on here! I just told mum to pull her finger out and get on with it :-)

We've not done that much really, our brother & sister are back to school after the summer break so it's back to just me & sophie hanging out during the day. The weathers been quite nice but we did have one day which was torrential and, can you believe it, mum dragged us out! We couldn't believe it. Anyway apart from that it's been vizslas as usual. Sophie is going back to her dog training in a few weeks to do her 'gold'.

Most days me and Sophie just like lying where the sun shines, I have to say I always muscle in first.

Seeing Red

Today Sophie & Ruby attended their first viz wizz which was organised by vizslascotland and held at Tentsmuir Forest near Leuchars. The weather was fantastic, blue sky and really warm.

It was a good turnout and great to put some names to faces from the forum (nice to meet you all guys). Ruby and Sophie, I think, were a bit overwhelmed by so many gingers but they had a great time and are now sleeping in the sun. Some absolutely gorgeous dogs and a cute wee puppy.. wonder what she made of it all.

Mum brought our 'grans' dog Molly to stay with us for a week. Molly is an 11yr old springer spaniel. The last time Molly came for the day I wasn't very nice to her and mum had a word in my ear. This time i've been ok. Molly is actually quite cool, very like Sophie as in she'll do what I say lol. No room for 2 top dogs in my house.

We've been out on lots of walks but not too far as Molly still runs about like a young dog but then gets very stiff if she goes too far. She's a bit barmy actually constantly has to look for an old plastic bottle to carry (what's that all about?). See she's got a purple one in this picture.
Mum says Molly is going home this week and it's been good for her to have dog company as her companion dog Meg who was 12, sadly died last year and since then she's been alone. Anyway, i've quite enjoyed her company but not sure mum has enjoyed walking 3 dogs, she seems to spend a lot of time tangled up in our leads.

Ladies and Longleat

Well we survived our long car journey to our holiday down near Dorset. We stayed at Longleat for a week and here we are in front of the beautiful house.We were allowed to walk round the grounds in the evening which was lovely. Mum, Dad and our bother went to see the other animals in the safari park but we didn't go. Mum says they were all beautiful and here's a snap.

Mum and our brother even visited Monkeyworld as mum is a big fan of the TV prog and the great work they do. Our brother has adopted an orangutan called 'Dinda' - she's ginger as well ha ha.

We then travelled up to Silverdale in Cumbria and had a relaxing week where we got lots of nice walks and trips at the beach. The weather was pretty rubbish but we still enjoyed ourselves. Happy to be home though, I still don't like long car travels and my dad is sick of picking ticks out of me, and mum is sick of me rolling in gunk!

Mum & Dad took us out yesterday when it was cooler. We had a walk to Limekilns via Pattiesmuir and there was a great view from the top of the hill down to Rosyth Dockyard.on the way home we had a game of hide 'n' seek

then today mum surprised us with a bath cos apparently we stink!!! I luv the bath but Ruby isn't so keen.

I really don't know what mums problem is - we like eating grass, it's tasty and i'm going to eat it whenever I like! I know she's not keen when we spit it back up on to the carpet but hey... we're vizslas. Here's Ruby watching mum clean it up from a safe distance at the top of the stair ha ha.

Mum was off work today so we walked a different route this morning.

I think mum didn't want to go on our normal walk as Sophie is a birdcatcher. Yesterday Sophie came out a bush holding a bird but mum told her to 'leave' and 'here' and she did exactly that. I think mum was amazed and proud at the same time! I have to add that the bird flapped back into the hedge.

This morning's walk was quite uneventful in comparison. We just ran about like dafties as usual.

We're just back from a weekend at Killin. Lovely little caravan site with a great walk nearby taking in fields and skirting round the side of Loch Tay. We never met another sole on our walk so the dogs had a great time. Sophie was in and out of the water, mainly paddling but then she spotted some ducks and took off running through the shallow water to disappear up to her neck when she found the deep bit! Ruby didn't want to swim this weekend - not sure why.

What a fantastic day. We went out this morning around 8am and it was very warm even then. The girlst didn't do too much running about which was strange and they just plodded home. Heat must have been too much. The rest of the day was spent lazing in and out the house.

A rare photo of us attacking mum in the garden. I think Sophie was trying to lick her. She's always taking our photos but our 'sister' sneaked this one today as she got in from school. Mum said "no photos of me", hmmm now she knows how we feel!

Sophie was fixated on a bird in the hedge today. Not even a tasty treat would shift her. ... later on, mum told me "Ruby, get off the bed". You can see I was listening intently.

Mum & Dad took us to Lochore Country Park today. It was great fun, we came across cows and horses which Ruby was puzzled by. I even tasted cowpat yum yum and further round I even found a deers leg to chew on......... how great is this place eh!

Don't think mum was best pleased but I was ignoring her. Further round we said hello to some newfoundland dogs, collies and a rottie. What a fab place, I hope they take me back. Ruby managed to roll twice, I don't know what the attraction is to doing that... why would you want to rub your nice coat in muck and smell awful hmm?

Earlier I was trying trying to do some work on the computer Sophie decided I wasn't paying her enough attention. She tried, in a not so subtle way to get my attention ..... casually placing her paw on my leg (which is very brave of her because she gets told off and made to put it down - still working on this) and by sticking her nose in the air - as if that made her invisible!
She didn't think getting a few pats was enough so she squeezed herself into a small space under the desk and lay over my feet, trapping me and unable to move my chair as her tail was curled under the wheel. The look on her face was priceless, like she was saying "what, is there a problem" lol. Velcro dogs indeed.

Sophie here, i've been lazing at the window where I get the sun. I like this window as I can see when mum arrives home in her car.

We went for a walk with our neighbour and their westie (Wallace) he's so cool but he can't keep up with us (wee legs you see). I think Ruby likes him, in fact everytime a male dog goes past us she flirts with them...... it's so embarrasing! I got a new collar, can you see it? I think I suit black.

Tonight (10:50pm) I was minding my own business when I was awoken by a bright light, why does mum always have a camera pointing at me. One was trying to burrow under ones quilt.

Easter weekend

Sophie and me have been away in our caravan. We went to a place near Ayr where we had a big field to run around and we went to Culzean Castle. Unfortunately we didn't get many snaps of us as it was very very busy being easter Sunday but here's one of us running and one after our trip, doing what we do best..... relaxing in the caravan.

The weather has been lovely this weekend and we even got out into the garden for most of the day. It was so warm Sophie even came back inside and here she is lying in the porch.

Hurrah it's getting lighter. We haven't been up to very much today except mum bathed us! I can't say it's my favourite activity but she said "that's what you get when you roll in yuk stuff". Sophie loves the bath, in fact she was trying to get in at the same time as me! So we're both nice and shiny and smell lovely.... just what we needed for our trip away in the caravan next week, I hope I don't find some more stuff to roll in.

Weather woes

Can't wait for spring! Most of Scotland has been battered again by heavy snow and rain. We've luckily only had a few snow showers which were quite heavy but melted very quickly but we have had constant rain for 3 days now. Our walks have been limited due to my 2 looking at me like i'm stupid when I pull them out to go for their walks. Not surprised though they get drenched.

This morning, no surprise one of our walks was waterlogged. It's been miserable here, and I took a picture of the sky, grey and heavy with the Forth Road Bridge in the background.
We walked as far as we could but our usual run round the field was not going to happen as it was flooded.

What's a vizsla to do?

... play & fight of course!

They amused themselves that way and getting very muddy :-) whilst I took cover to avoid them running into my knees.

Two vizslas with very different personalities. It was really frosty this morning when we were out. Coats required!

Ruby is content to have a run around, sniff about then generally walks at my heel and doesn't stray far unless she's stalking pheasants. Sophie, being younger is constantly on the go, darting from one thing to another and doesn't mind being away from my side. She's really maturing into a lovely dog. I see parts of her training really starting to pay off for us now. In one of the fields today she was quite far away from me, just about out of site and I whistled, she turned, looked and bolted back and sat right in front of me. It was her lucky day as she was rewarded with a nice treat (I don't always take treats with me so they don't assume they'll always get one).

Being firm with her training is paying off. When we first got Sophie she was 14mths and lived partially outside and wasn't house trained, when I think back to what she was like then to how she is now, she's come such a long way.

Lazy Sunday

We went out for a nice long walk today, plenty of mud to splash through and the odd pheasant to chase today! Sophie tried to jump through a barbed wire fence again ... will she ever learn.

Luckily she backed out and saved herself from getting another cut and bare patch of skin on the hind leg.

If there's mischief to be found....... she's your vizsla :-)

Coats are everything

I know we seem to have been obsessed talking about coats recently but at last my new one arrived, no more sharing!!! It's been really cold again, but our kennel cough has gone and we're back to normal. Mum took us out today and the ground was still quite hard. We both wore our coats (here I go again!!), we thought you'd like to see :-)

Someone had dumped an old hoover in the woods, Sophie was quite spooked by it until mum went up to it then she sniffed it, then was bored with it! (that was Sophie sniffed it, not mum :-) )

Sophie here - well i'm back to my old self, still got a bit of a cough but not like I had. I'm back to bounding around. My big sis, sadly now has kennel cough and has got it a bit worse than me. Dad took her to the vet as she wasn't eating and was lethargic! Anyway she's had some medicine and has started to eat her dinner again today 'yay' and 'boo' as i used to get a bit extra when she didn't eat it. Anyway, Ruby is now wearing the coat but she's not been out for a few days. Mum ordered another coat but it's not arrived yet so we'll be sharing.

Once we're both back to full strength we'll post some more.

Coughing and Spluttering

Sophie woke me up at around 4:30am last Sunday to cough in my ear, I thought she was choking! Mum & Dad came down and I heard mum say "I think she's got kennel cough". I thought she'd been somewhere exotic without me! Anyway she's been quite poorly this week and hasn't been getting much exercise, but mum took me out on my own (just like the old days).

She came out for a walk with me today but not for long, I kindly let her wear my coat seeing as she has a sore throat. Mum says i'll probably get it too, so far so good!

It's rubbish, the paths are still like an ice rink and I nearly came a cropper a couple of times. (Mum took this photo using her phone, that's why it's out of focus). Sophie got off lead today for 5 mins but she must be poorly as she never really went anywhere, I tried to fight her (ahem play) but she wasn't having it. I'll be glad when she's back to normal but it could be weeks!!!!! Think i'd rather be indoors near the fire.

It's been one of the coldest winters I can remember, but they have enjoyed running around in the snow over the last 2 weeks!

As you'll see, most of Scotland has been battered by heavy snow. This is their garden.

Today, the day before, the day before that.... same weather miserable and rainy! So we've not been up to much. We've been for a few brisk walks in the rain, I hate it when my coat gets wet... and the rest of the day Sophie has been practicing her 'commando' moves along the carpet, she's very entertaining but you'd never catch me doing that, i'm far too much of a lady! I'm actually thinking of entering her for Britain's got talent. We've also been practicing our 'formation sleeping' which we are particularly good at :-)

This is me and Ruby waiting on mum getting ready for work. Once she's ready we go downstair for a nice treat and off she goes.
We've not been up to much. I've noticed our walk in the morning is a bit 'darker' and our walk in the evening is 'darker'. Not fair.... I have to stay on the extension lead instead of running about! Don't think Ruby's that bothered but I like my game of round up the crows on the playing field. I met a new friend today, a 5mth old wirehaired pointer, mum says he was cute!

After our walk this evening we came in and it was quite cold so mum put the fire on, and we dutifully parked ourselves in front of it. "Happiness is stealing all the heat"

Well the farmer has now ploughed all his fields (boo!). No more running through the stubble for me and Sophie, just back to the tracks. Have to say that we're not enjoying beng called from our cozy bed of a morning to walk in the dark! but are enjoying the radiator being warm again (yay!). Have to confess to getting a row from the farmer the other day for disturbing the pheasants in the bit he shoots. Doesn't he know were' Vizslas!!!! Mum and dad normally let us run down the middle of one of the fields and we couldn't help ourselves and ran into the long grass, one flew up right in front of me. I've promised the farmer i'll not go in that bit anymore.

Hey, I know you, do I know you......

Today we were about to have a run through the field when Sophie spotted one of her friends from 'dog training'. This was her just pausing as she recognised 'latte (lab)' :-)

and this is Ruby thinking "where's she going, i'm her playmate!"....
We had a good run round and disappeared over a hill. Tonight, our recall was excellent, we couldn't see mum but could hear her whistle so we rocketed back towards her, she looked pleased. Sophie proved she's learned a lot. Mum had to do a very loud "LEAVE IT" to her tonight as she tried to lift a hedgehog up, but she left it immediately and ran back to mum. Couldn't believe it! my lil sis is growing up.

I haven't got a scooby!

Such a nice weekend, weather lovely. Rub n Soph spent this afternoon darting in and out the uncut barley playing hide and seek with a few young pheasants. One flew up right in front of Sophie and I managed to catch her expression.

She looks a bit like Scooby Doo as if to say "how'd I miss that?".

They were both smiling but tired at the end of their chase game.

Silver Sophie!

Yesterday Sophie passed her Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog "Silver". I was very proud of her, she did brilliantly and has come a long way from the bundle of energy we brought home 9mths ago, she is maturing into a beautiful, loving girl. Another jingly tag to wear....

We've been away in our caravan again. Here we are after arriving at Rothiemurchus Estate just outside Aviemore. I'm on the left looking bedraggled and Sophie who luvs the car looks fab!

We had a great week, lots of lovely walks and daytrips.

Sophie spotted some ducks in the water and gave chase, she didn't realise that where the large rocks end it is pretty deep so she ended up swimming! I joined her for a while but, it is Scotland, and the water was freezing. Sophie is in the background just coming back to shore.

At the end of the day, it was nice to get back to the caravan for a cosy sleep x

Today the dogs had a mission!! Sadly last week my mum+dad's dog Molly (spaniel) lost her best friend of 11 yrs (Meg, boxer). Molly has been understandably down in the dumps so I took my two over today to have a walk with Molly. She smiled all the way and chased her ball and wagged her tail.......... hope your less sad soon Molly x.

Chulaks meet Chulak

Tonight Ruby and Sophie met another viz from the Chulak kennels. Another Ruby (Chulak Made You Look), she's a stunner! Sophie enjoyed her sniff and run about with 'little Ruby' who at a year old was actually bigger than Sophie who'se almost 2yrs. Here they are sitting nicely for a treat from little Ruby's mum.

Here's one of the two Ruby's. Little Ruby 'guarding' her mum from big Ruby. Ruby being nearly 6, was a little big grumpy at times tonight with little Ruby, she's quite protective of her little sister soph, either that or she thought her mum and dad were bringing another one home :-)

Sophie takes the bronze!

Since we got Sophie I hoped to keep up with her dog training and I managed to find a local class. She's done really well and i'm pleased to announce that Sophie got her 'bronze' kennel club certificate today. We'll be doing silver and hopefully gold once the classes start again.

Forth Road Bridge Walk

On Saturday Ruby & Sophie took part in a 6mile sponsored walk to raise funds for their 'brothers' football team [Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts]. They did really well and on the way back over the Forth Road Bridge we stopped to take their photo. The weather was lovely. They certainly slept well that night :-)

Well the weather has been not bad recently, Soph 'n' Rub have been lazing in the front garden. Soph luvs trying to catch butterflies......... just as well we've got a high fence!

We went for a walk along the coastal path one night last week. The girls luv it, they get a good run off lead. Sophie was desperately trying to show me something but I was having none of it, so Soph just jumped the wall and balanced for ages with her bum out (very lady like for a vizsla)! Dad says her head is full of broken biscuits, maybe he has a point.

Then she was tempted to run down to the beach, but spun round pretty fast when she dipped a toe in.... maybe not!!

I luv my ginger sister.......... she's phenomenal like irn bru. Mum's taking Sophie to dog training classes, but it seems that she is a model dog when i'm not around, how unfair is that, giving a false impression to everyone. Mum says she loves all the other dogs and is really enjoying herself, she must be as she flops in her bed once they get back......... after i've given her a cuddle (cos I do miss her when she's not with me, but shh, don't tell Sophie).

Crieff

We've just returned from a long weekend in the caravan to Crieff. Ruby loves the caravan but Sophie had never been, i'm pleased to report she was excellent. We got a great spot right next to the river and ducks waddled past our awning every morning, much to Sophies delight! She worked out if she stood on the steps she could see out the window better :-)

We took a trip to Auchingarrich Wildlife Park, Perthshire. A brill day out and well-behaved dogs are allowed. The girls had a great time meeting some of the animals.

They had a great time and slept well that night.

The girls started playfighting in the livingroom so I opened the door and let them out - more room to run I thought. They both stood and stared as if to say "let us back in". I let them in, they started playfighting, I let them out they stared........... you get the picture. Dogs!

Today the girls were out in the garden. It's been nice weather for 3 days solid woo hoo!!!! After a chase round they couldn't quite decide who was playing in goals.

Sophie cut her paw whilst out in the fields today. So she got a nice black & yellow sock to keep her foot clean. She thought it was something to eat at first and was very interested but then got bored and stood at the window.

But mum.... it's for you!

Out on our walk this morning a little before 7am, the dogs were running about, I put my ipod on and continued walking. The dogs were in and out of the fields where I walk, Ruby comes back... Sophie doesn't. I whistle, Ruby sits to attention for a treat.... no Sophie. I whistle again, turn my ipod off and listen........ no Sophie. I walked back up the edge of the field and I see her collar almost in front of me, I whistle, she comes running and presents me with a pheasant. I know it's nearly mothers day but c'mon!!!!!

This is Sophie back in the house after giving me such a fright but very pleased with herself.. she's so cute :-)

Treats...

Last night me & Sophie played "hunt the treats in the pile of old towels" in the kitchen. I really like this game, mainly because I can sniff them out better than Sophie. It kept us both amused for at least 25 minutes.

Later on Sophie played with her "dog" but it had all become sooooo boring for me, I sat next to mum instead blocking her view of the TV.

Sophie is back to normal today, full of energy. A moment of calm, here's Ruby & Sophie relaxing after their tea tonight! The snoring was incredible, had to be heard to be believed.

It's moments like this that I know we made the right decision to get another dog. Sophie is such a part of our family now, can't remember not having her. I had concerns about how Ruby would accept her but as you can see I think she kinda likes the company.

We got soaked on our walk this morning, hailstones no less (typical Scottish weather). Sophie disappeared for about 5 mins in the big field and mum and I were whistling for ages. Sometimes there's a lady that empties her leftovers into the field from her garden (mum tries her best to keep us away from it but sometimes it's too much temptation for vizslas, much to mums annoyance) and mum reckons Sophie has scoffed whatever was there! She's been very quiet all day, not her usual inquisitive self, and she's had a bit of an upset tummy. Mum took a picture of her earlier looking sad....

Sophie was a bit better this evening and even wanted to run about with her ball, but it's all been too much for her. I went upstair to see where mum had gone. I found her in the office and Sophie was with her "glued to the radiator" to ensure I can't steal it off her, I don't mind her having this one though :-)

Some days you've just got to chill. This is me and my brother last night watching the Liverpool game. My brother is a massive Liverpool fan even though he's wearing his Scotland top. I think it's because they play in red.......... I like the colour red, it's vizsla colour:-)

We went out this morning and I chased another pheasant. I was trying to tell Ruby that I was onto something but she was otherwise occupied.

Devilla Forest

Today we went to Devilla Forest just outside Dunfermine for a run. We met 2 other vizslas called 'Oliver' and 'Stanley'. Very nice boys!

After they left, dad gave us a treat for being nice girls!

We had a good walk/run through the forest and our 'brother' and his friend led us to a frozen pond. Sophie stepped on a bit that wasn't solid and got wet and cold!!!! Silly Sophie x

Today we went for a long walk once mum got in from work this afternoon. Sophie flushed a pheasant today! It was freezing so me and Soph ran about like mad things to keep warm. I stepped on an ice puddle today and it broke so hey I just decided to have a drink while I was there brrrrr!!!!!!!

When we got home dad fed us then he started cooking, we were under dads feet so we had to wait outside the kitchen, it was so unfair as it smelled really good!

Official flatmates!

My sleepover with Ruby was a success. I've now moved in with her. My crate across the hall looks quite empty but i'm glad i've moved, much more spacious and cosy.

Was a beautiful morning today when me & sophie went out for our run.

Sophie says - "well i've been with my new family for 5 wks now and I'm really settled now. I love my big ginger sister ruby and i'm getting lots of nice walks and runs. My mum seems to whistle a lot on me but I dont' mind because when I return I get a nice treat.

This weekend i'm moving in with my big sis Ruby at nightime in her bed. She doesn't have a crate like me, she's got a penthouse pad near the stair with a baby gate.

If my family go out for a few hours I go in to keep Ruby company and we're fine, so mum says I can have a sleepover tonight and see how it goes. I can't wait! "

Today we went for a walk up the fields beside our house.

Sophie had to stay on her lead a bit further because the other day she ran back the way after a hare and ended up almost by the main road! Blimey I didn't know mum could run that fast herself..... I heard her say that Sophie's speed was impressive but her hearing wasn't!!!!

We then got into the woods and climbed up to the top and mum took a photo of us with our human brother, he's great.... loves to play with us :-). I like having a ginger sister now, she certainly keeps me amused! I just let her get on with things, she's a pup afterall! I'm very tolerant except when she tries to squeeze in behind me to get to the radiator........ UNACCEPTABLE and she'll never move me :-)

Mum decided we were sitting nicely at one point and she got the camera out again. Well Sophie was sitting nicely, but then she'll do anything for a treat.

Mum did some training with Sophie later in the evening. She keeps putting her paws up when she wants a pat, and mum keeps putting them down, one day she'll learn.

Hi, i'm Ruby.

I'm a 5yr old vizsla and I live with a nice family in Scotland. I have a pretty cool life with plenty of walks, a nice warm bed and lots of fun with my family! I also like to go on holiday in our caravan, visiting lots of places with nice walks. Sometimes it gets very tiring and I have to rest :)

I heard my mum & dad saying that i'd soon be getting a 'sister'. Well she arrived 3 weeks ago, we met at the park and I couldn't believe my dad walking toward me with another ginger!! We had a sniff of each other then a good run around, I was surprised to find I liked her, she seemed fun.

My new sister is called Sophie, she's 15mths old. This is us in our house. She's on the left. Blimey she's a bundle of energy. The photo at the bottom is us a week later, well I suppose she can stay, but hey, there's no way she's getting my radiator position.
